Removal of selected teak trees to minimise the competition has been started in Puttlam Estate.

It is a common practice to plant the trees closely and then to remove the selected ones in order to maintain a good plantation. Following that principle, Sadaharitha Plantations Management Team started the removal of the first set of selected trees in the Puttlam Estate to provide the maximum benefits to the existing ones. Due to this activity, the existing trees will have more spacing for the growth with a minimum competition
