Sadaharitha started manufacturing compost in major scale for the third time...

For this year our compost target is 1,000 MT and that amount will be manufactured mainly in three teak estates, i.e., Kumaragama, Puttlam and Karambewea. Based on the outcomes of a BSc level research project conducted at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura under the supervision of Dr. Upul Subasinghe, the manufactured compost will be enriched by adding some inorganic ingredients. Therefore our own compost will specifically be manufactured to enhance the growth of our teak plants. By applying compost in significant manner, we contribute to the conservation of our water bodies and biodiversity as inorganic fertiliser can cause serious damages to the environment.
